It was great to volunteer for this year’s Poppy Appeal yesterday, I met some lovely people while collecting at Morrisons in Pontefract, all supporting such a meaningful cause.
Roger Kirby who, together with his wife Janice, organise the Ackworth and Pontefract Appeal, told me that they’re always in need of more volunteers. In fact, with more help, they could even set up another collection point at a local store!
If you can spare a couple of hours, it would be a huge help. Early sign-ups make organising much easier for Roger and Janice. I’ll definitely be volunteering again next year.
